Overview of Artistic Styles Exhibitions

Japanese artists have used nine different artistic styles to make pictures of flowers and (or) birds. The names of these nine styles are listed alphabetically below along with the titles of exhibitions which include examples of a particular style. A title with an asterisk indicates that the exhibition also includes an explanation of the characteristic features of that style. Centuries in which a style was used are shown in brackets beneath its name.
